Founded in 1841,in Kyiv, Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) is a leading medical educational institution in Ukraine. Bogomolets National Medical University provides training of specialists for practical healthcare at all educational levels. Nowadays, over 14,000 students study at the University. There are over 1500 international students from 67 countries. The university employs about 1200 teaching staff. The international students are instructed in English since 2004. The university includes 10 faculties, 87chairs and 2 scientific and research institutions.

The Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) is a government higher education institution providing the highest level of accreditation with education programs at different levels. Founded in 1944, it is a leading medical educational institution of Eastern Europe, combining tradition with innovation and competence in research and education. With seven faculties, four colleges, a number of hospitals and research centers, BSMU educates young people willing to study medicine and wanting to acquire professional medical skills. Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) is one of the largest higher educational establishments of Chernivtsi. It has recently celebrated the 65th anniversary of its foundation. It is a modern multisectoral educational institution with the IV accreditation level, included into the general register of the WHO, Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna, Italy), the Association of the Carpathian Region Universities that provides qualified training according to the grade system of education.

Donetsk National Medical University was established in 1930 . Due to the quality of training and comparatively low tuition fees DonNMU is an attractive Ukrainian Medical Universities for foreigners. Donetsk National Medical University is listed in the medical directories of the World Health Organization (WHO) and I-Med Schools. Approximately 4 200 students study at the eight faculties of Donetsk National Medical University. They come from Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, USA, UK, Germany, Poland, Greece, Israel, Turkey, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Peru, Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Tunisia, Kenya, Namibia, Zambia, Lebanon and other countries. So far, the university has granted 45,000 degrees, to doctors, well-known scientists, researchers, health care providers from Ukraine and 89 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Americas. At the M.Gorky Donetsk National Medical University there are eight faculties including a preparatory faculty for foreign students.

The history of Lviv Medical University goes back to 1661. Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University is one of the oldest and biggest medical universities in Ukraine with the IV level of accreditation. Beginning from 1961 University provides education for foreign citizens. During 50 years over 2,5 thousand doctors and pharmacists – foreigners have got education here and have been working successfully as doctors and pharmacists in many countries of the world. Education is provided in Ukrainian, Russian Language, and since 1997 the teaching of foreign students in English has been launched and is rapidly developing.

Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University is an institute of higher medical education in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. The university holds 443 teaching staff including 77 PhDs, 264 candidates for PhD, and 19 academics. The university maintains professional contacts with the World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Associations, including the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America, Lublin Medical Academy, and universities in Germany, Austria, and Poland.

Founded in 1805, Kharkiv National Medical University is one of the leaders of the development and introduction of new medical education technologies in Ukraine. The University is a holder of the State Standard Certificate ISO 9001:2009 (ISO 9001:2008, Independent Developmental Testing), which means that the University implemented and uses a quality management system meeting the requirements of the globally recognized International Organization for Standardization (ISO). In 1951, it was the first medical university in Ukraine to open its doors to foreign students.

The main activity of the University is the providing higher medical education for Specialist’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as postgraduate training in internship, mastership, postgraduate study courses for physicians and pharmacists. The history of Zaporizhia State Medical University comes back to the Women Pedagogical Courses organized in Odessa in 1903. In 1959 the Pharmaceutical Institute was transferred from Odessa to Zaporizhia and renamed in Zaporizhia Pharmaceutical Institute. In 1968 the institution became Zaporizhia State Medical University.

V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of the oldest universities of the Eastern Europe. It was founded in November 1804, on the initiative of the prominent educator V.N. Karazin and in accordance with the charter of Emperor Alexander I. Kharkiv University is the only university in Ukraine that has trained and employed three Nobel Prize laureates: the biologist I. Mechnikov, the economist S. Kuznets, and the physicist L. Landau. Since being founded, the University has graduated over 130,000 students. The names of the University graduates are perpetuated in toponyms, names of space objects, plants and minerals, laws and formulas. The University has initiated the whole system of higher education of the Kharkiv Region. Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is a higher education institution of with level IV accreditation in Ukraine. TNMU regularly leads various national and international rankings of universities. The university has twenty years of experience in teaching international students in English. Private Higher Educational Establishment “Kyiv Medical University” (est. 1992) is the biggest private higher educational medical institution in Ukraine. As of November 2018, around 3200 students (30% of which are international students that came to study from over 56 countries) are studying here.
